About

This project involved working with young people in schools across the West-side of Shetland to explore local culture and to create stop motion videos. The participants explored a number of art forms including drawing and painting, mono-printing, model and map-making, comic-strip and flip-book design, sound and field recording. These were then recorded using the schools ipads to create the following short stop-motion videos.

An ambitious multi-art form programme funded by the Scottish Government and co-ordinated by Fèisean nan Gàidheal, Treòir | Voar | Virr saw more than 50 creatives from more than 90 inhabited Scottish islands working with the community and the children of their local schools to learn about the area’s history and heritage through the arts.
